Australia Day is a celebration of all that is Australian. This is my first Australia Day as an Australian Citizen, so I should do something extra special, but what? So much happens you need at least 2 days to fit it all in.

Australia Day Eve Beergarden Party & Fireworks

Wednesday 25th January 2012 On Australia Day EVE, Northern Beaches most famous pub icon, The Newport Arms Hotel, will be hosting their 16th annual garden party and fireworks extravaganza to celebrate the Australia Day Holiday and being an Aussie.
Activities for the afternoon will kick off earlier than previous years with LIVE Music from 5pm featuring Pinnacle Sound System lead by Sharon Muscat. So get in early to avoid the queues!!!
Xmas Eve and NYE @ The Arms were record breaking event, and this event is the 3rd largest garden party the hotel stages each year and thus big crowds are expected to flock to ‘The Arms’ famous outdoor waterfront beergarden (Australia’s largest) to help celebrate this traditional important Australian holiday.
The fireworks display will be shot into the night sky during the night over Pittwater and it is recommended you arrive early to secure the best vantage point.
Smooth sounds will continue into sunset followed by party anthems until late on their moonlit dancefloor all night for those that want to party. Special STA Buses have been organised to and from the venue to help you get home safely.

Australia Day Celebrations at the Lakes

Australia Day is arguably our nation’s biggest celebration and here in Penrith, we know how to put on a party like no where else!
With the stunning Blue Mountains as the backdrop, the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith Lakes will play host to an Australia Day spectacular that has something for everyone. From live performances by Wes Carr and Jelly Bean Jam to the Smurfs Character Show, this is truly an all-ages event.
Catch the Smurf-Tacular Adventure Show and watch as the Smurfs set out for NYC to appear on the top rating show 'New Yorks' Got Talent'. Families will also have the chance to meet and greet the Smurfs and take photos with their favourite characters.
The SIMS Metal Management Extreme FMX & Aquatic Ski Shows will have thrill seekers on the edge of their seats as Australia’s premier wakeboarders and water-skiers perform back flips, pyramids and stunts that will leave you gasping. Back on land, be prepared to be blown away by the extreme FMX champions as they clear jumps and perform tricks and flips. One lucky person will also win a Yamaha jet ski valued at $12,000, thanks to SIMS Metal Management.
Be sure to cheer along two trampolinist Josh and Mobs who will be representing Australia at the world titles, watch them perform high flying syncronised jump routines and watch them compete in a male vs female flip off competition – see who can do the most flips in 60 secs.
