The Carlisle Bar

Reviewed by Ben Oxley
Smart, sassy, and chic are some of the ways to capture the look of The Carlisle Bar in Kellett Street, Kings Cross. The deep brown interior gives elegant relief to the marble and highlighted bar areas. Staff are very efficient, and the room is reminiscent of a bar onboard an ocean liner.

A theme encompassing birdcages and trees features throughout The Carlisle Bar in Sydney’s King Cross, which opened its doors for the first time on 22 November.

Complete with three separate bar areas, a lounge bar, nightclub and VIP area with 60 person capacity private rooms, The Carlisle has been described as much more than a traditional bar and nightclub.

It operates as an after work drinks destination, special events space - private rooms can be hired out for corporate functions, product launches and birthday celebrations, among others, and a high end bottle service is also available.

The place was buzzing by 8pm, but it will be the wee small hours which see the most patrons. Its appeal is in intimate seating areas, and a cosy dance floor area. The DJ gave way to drums from Polynesia, accompanied by three dancers who could have featured in Rio's Carnevale.

Facebook says the Sapphire Lounge has a fully operational kitchen on site and can offer a mouthwatering selection of catering options for your birthday party, engagement, product launch or work social drinks including canapes, gourmet pizzas or party platters.

The glittering jewel of Kings Cross clubs, the Sapphire Lounge brings a sexy sophistication to Sydney's highly competitive cocktail bar and nightclub scene.

It's easy to find, secure, and one of a few venues you can unwind and celebrate the best of Sydney in proper fashion. The Carlisle Bar is open from 6pm until late on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
